About
The Sound of History is a weekly podcast (audio program) featuring full-length, unedited, and uncut historic audio.
So often, our impression of history comes from soundbites on TV or radio. We know, for instance, that Martin Luther King said “I have a dream” but rarely hear what else he said that day in Washington. We know only the four words that get repeated in the media.
I wanted to know more. I wanted to hear everything people were saying, not just a few seconds from an event. That interest led to this podcast.
On The Sound of History, you’ll hear speeches, broadcasts, and events from around the world. Sometimes you’ll hear famous people, sometimes not. In any case, I want to find something interesting that you’ve probably never heard. Whenever possible, what you hear is original audio, uncut and unedited.
Your comments are also welcome and will be featured as a regular segment on this show.
